European multiculturalism: principles and contemporary status

Abstract

The article discusses some issues related to the principles and statuses of modern European multiculturalism. It is emphasized that more than fifty years of the concept of multiculturalism attracted the attention of leading politicians, as well as people of art and science. In this regard, the author of the article tried to explore the concepts of "multiculturalism", the ways of its historical development, as well as the current state. The article describes the modern period of European multiculturalism, the concept of multiculturalism and the model of multicultural citizens is disclosed, and the results of the consequences of the third flow of migrants to Europe are shown. The main purpose of the article, on the example of Europe, is to show the theoretical and practical problems arising in the context of multicultural politics, to indicate the serious influence of nationalist ideologies on the policy of multiculturalism, and to identify the cultural minorities affected by this trend.
