Abstract

The article analyzes the indicators of dynamics, commodity structure and geographical orientation of foreign trade in services of international transport of the Odessa region. The present state of the logistic component of the region is considered and the activity of international transport is provided to identify the participants of the logistics process in the Odessa region, providing transport services for subjects of foreign economic activity. The complex analysis of indicators of the transport sector development and SWOT analysis of factors of international transport services at the regional level was made, which allowed to identify the weaknesses, strengths, opportunities and threats for developing the strategy of further development of the transport sector in conditions of increasing global and regional competition. The issues of development of the transport sector of the Odessa region under the conditions of the Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union, which separately considers the issues of integration and development of the transport system of freight transport and passenger transportation by all modes of transport, are singled out. Certain organizational measures are proposed for the development of regional trade in international transport services under the conditions of the free trade zone between Ukraine and EU countries. The emphasis is on reforming the system of state management of the sector of transport of goods and passengers, including export import and transit. The necessity to take practical steps towards improvement of such components of the management of development of transport potential of the region as tariff policy, operational activity and simplification of control procedures at ports and customs control points is emphasized. The prospects for using a cluster development model to improve international transport services are outlined.
