Abstract

The article elaborates on the etymology of the notion of ‘development’ as philosophical and economic category that serves as a foundation for formulating the notions of ‘investment-driven development’ for educational sphere. The paper outlines the fundamental properties and peculiarities of employing the term ‘investment development’ in the domestic educational sphere, which is otherwise nowhere to be found in scientific and regulatory sources. The result of the research is an author-suggested treatment of these notions within the framework of system approach. The scientific novelty of the findings lies with the development of the theoretical foundations of investment management, particularly, for the first time the definition of the notion of ‘investment-driven development’ of educational sphere is substantiated, allowing to realize the formulation and implementation of efficient investment policy in domestic educational sphere at various levels; the clarification for the basic notion of ‘development’ is provided from its origin as a philosophical and economic category.
