Abstract

Modern operating conditions of enterprises are characterized by rapid change, in result the company should ensure continuous development to continue its operations . The paper is devoting to analysis the essence of the concept "enterprise’s development” and its relationship with other economic categories. The opinion of different authors on the interpretation of the concept that exist in the scientific literature was considered. As a result of the analysis the scientists' views concerning the interpretation of this concept have been grouped in the main approaches and characterized each of them. Different views of economists about the definition of the concepts of "development", "growth" were analyzed. Relationships and major differences between them were found. Based on the study the essence of the concept "enterprise’s development" was revealing, the author’s generalized definition of the category was given.
