One of the types of management audit is personnel audit. Its essence lies in the implementation of diagnostics for enterprise personnel. However, narrow methodology-specific understanding of audit of this subject confines its technical capacities. The expedience of implementing the given approach to the comprehension of strategic personnel audit as a methodological support for complex internal management standards in the conditions of contemporary social, political and economic development proves to be most feasible. Personnel audit has to display its multifunctional nature and extend onto every domain of personnel activity at the enterprise; it must be an all-purpose method of exercising control over enterprise efficiency. Concurrently, a deeper theoretic substantiation is required for the dependence of the process of personnel audit on the phase of career cycle, which would further allow researching the peculiarities of personnel adaptation and development serving as major factors of career advancement for employees. The main technique of conducting a personnel audit at the enterprise is performing a diagnostics of staff activity. The work attempts at emphasizing the major structural elements of diagnostics realization, with the help of which the personnel audit is performed (including monitoring, analysis, evaluation, examination, personnel management documents assessment, staff records management revision, introduction of innovations into diagnostics of personnel activity, development of recommendations).
