The essence of corporative social responsibility is reviewed in the article. For the illumination of questions, which are covered by social responsibility on the basis of international standart ISO 26000:2010, there were the core subjects researched and their characteristics, which include organizational governance, human rights, labour practises, the environment, fair operating practises, consumer issues, community involvement and development were given. Basing on the above mentioned, the recommendations on the assessment of the characteristics of corporate social responsibility of an enterprise by the high, medium and low levels were proposed. There were the official web sites of such food processing enterprises, as "Sandora" Ltd., "Vitmark-Ukraine" Ltd., PJSC "Erlan", PJSC "Production Association "Odessa Cannery" analyzed for realization of the corporate social responsibility programs and projects. According to the information, provided by those sites, it was set, that the main directions of the realization of corporate social responsibility are: consumer rights protection and the community involvement and development. It is outlined, that the development of corporate social responsibility by the food processing industry enterprises stimulates the increasing of competitive ability through the improving of their image, the growing of their amounts of product sales, entering the international markets, forming consumer loyalty, introducing the newest technologies, reducing costs, attracting investments.
