Further developed approaches to identify trends and evaluate the effectiveness of management of development of the meat sector. It was found that the main reasons for the low efficiency of the meat industry is the high cost of production, price disparity, lack of motivation of manufacturers to innovate and introduce advanced resource- energy-saving technologies, low purchasing power and the like. The largest share in the structure of production costs take food. Most agricultural enterprises do not have their own fodder, which has a negative impact on production costs, as well as the process, in particular animal feed. Proposals to improve the efficiency of management of development of the meat industry, which include international, national, regional and local levels and their combination, should form a comprehensive strategy for the development of the meat industry and to provide a synergistic effect.
