In this article dynamics of structure of agricultural production of Ukraine for the 20-year period of independence, extent of use of lands, the dominating tendencies in change of the main indicators is considered. As a result of research existence of the growing disproportions between the basic structural elements of agricultural production – animal husbandry and plant growing in favor of the last is revealed. It is shown emergence of the new dominating factor in agricultural production – grain and sunflower by increase in shares of the areas occupied under and reduction of the areas occupied under production of forages that led to reduction much of a livestock of cattle, production of meat and milk, reduced much volumes of introduction of organic fertilizers and created threat of safety of the main wealth of the people of Ukraine – soils and their fertility. The thesis about need of increase of the regulating role of the state for the purpose of correction of tendencies of development first of all, for preservation of the main national wealth – soils and their fertility which is a basis of life support of the people of Ukraine is formulated. It is emphasized that in development of agriculture the agrospherical campaign which integrates economic result of managing, interests of country people and the ecological principle of preservation of the main resource of agricultural production has to become key. The major factors capable to restore balance of agricultural production are defined and to formulate prime requirements to improvement to the doctrine of agricultural development of the farming of Ukraine.
