The article defines the basic methods and tools for commodity expertise of perfumes according to national standards and European regulations. The basic methodological approaches to the assessment of the quality, labeling and packaging of perfumes to update the methodology of the examination of perfumery goods in accordance with modern requirements are reviewed. The comparative characteristic of the technical requirements of international standards for quality perfumes and technical requirements of national standards are given. It was found that the main factors shaping the quality of perfumes are raw materials, the quantitative and qualitative composition of the product, especially its production (texture, character packing, type of consumer packaging, container product unit). The commodity expert examination and analysis of the quality of perfumes to determine their compliance with modern regulations on the basic organoleptic and physico-chemical indicators of quality, including an assessment of compliance of containers, which are packed of perfumery liquids, labeling and packaging according to the procedures given in European regulations was conducted.
