The article highlights the basics of functioning of the EU system of standardization and certification, the ways of integration of agricultural standards and food industry into the national legislation have been distinguished according to the requirements of the Association Agreement with the EU. The dynamics and volume of agricultural and food products to be exported have been analyzed as well as the possibility to increase exporting opportunities of these branches due to coordination of Ukraine' s legislation and the European one, especially in the field of standardization and certification, has been emphasized. The analysis of the condition of implementation of the EU standards and their harmonization in Ukraine has been made as well as the main trends of harmonization of normative legal acts have been defined. On the example of dairy food and confectionary industry, the article reveals the necessity of a number of stages to be outlined in order to implement the EU standards in Ukraine.
