The high potential of tourist and recreation complex of the Transcarpathian region provides the industry with an opportunity to become the main source of replenishment of local budgets, which is especially important in the conditions of the decentralized state governance. The Transcarpathian region, which has an advantageous geographical and geopolitical location, is also a unique ecological system of Western Ukraine. The area under investigation is favorable one for the development of all the main kinds of tourism. The article reveals the priorities and problems of development of tourism in the Transcarpathian region, preconditions of application of marketing concepts and marketing complex in the process of their implementation. As a result of the SWOT-analysis the strengths and future opportunities are defined, in addition, the weak points and dangers (threats) of the tourist industry of the Transcarpathian region are forecasted. A number of measures to promote the development of tourism in Transcarpathia are proposed and the main directions of realization of state policy in the field of tourism are outlined.
