The article is devoted to solving problems of development of excursion activity in the sphere of tourist business. The essence of museum activity as forms of knowledge of history and culture, traditions of the nation, a role of museums in excursion is revealed. The dynamics of the development of museums and tourist and excursion activities in Ukraine and the Odessa region are analyzed, factors that influence the attractiveness of museums and their exposures are determined. The problems of forming national museum networks are taken into account, taking into account the international experience of their development. Scientific approaches to the development of the innovative component in museum management have been determined. The expediency of introducing the international experience of the formation of the national museum network for activating the excursion activity in the tourist market is substantiated. It is proposed to introduce the concept of "social network" - network partnership, network management - into the basis of the development of excursion activity of Ukrainian museums.
