Abstract

In the article, the example of China presents the peculiarity of economic activity based on culture in the broad sense of the word - as the unifying principle of socio-economic functioning as a whole. The attitude to one of the fundamental principles of cultural consciousness - the principle of center-decentration - in the West and the East is considered. The origins and individual original directions of the functioning of Chinese civilization are analyzed, which confirm the departure from the principle of centrism: the concept of the universe, political and economic management, attitudes towards talent, innovation and creativity in general, the interrelation of traditions and innovations, relations with other countries.
