Abstract

The article considers some pages of Nadir Shah's struggle for the restoration of the Safavid state. It is noted that the deterioration of the geopolitical situation in the Middle East and the Caucasus led to the fall of the Safavid state, but thanks to the military talent of Nadir Shah, the restoration of the integrity of the Safavid state began. The author also notes that successes in domestic politics and an attempt to restore the integrity of the country characterize Nadir Shah as an outstanding statesman and commander. Despite the fact that the conclusion of peace treaties with neighboring occupation states did not bring success, but in all these processes the military talent of Nadir Shah was revealed. At the end of the article it is noted that due to the lack of coherence in the question of the adherence of the throne, which led to the assassination of Nadir Shah and to the split of the once powerful Azerbaijani Safavid state into separate small khanate states.
