The article defines the «market conditions», covers theoretical aspects of business studies. The importance and necessity of monitoring of the given industry in the modern economic conditions was revealed. The current state and dynamics of changes of the main components characterizing the dairy industry in Ukraine are analyzed. The most important problems that are characteristic for this branch of the national economy are revealed. The main tendencies of growth and decrease of the dairy market capacity in Ukraine are investigated. The perspective directions of development, which will promote further development of the milk market on the domestic and foreign markets, are determined. According to a study of the functioning of the milk market and the problems found on it, it can be argued that in Ukraine it is necessary to carry out a series of measures aimed at reforming the agrarian sector, in particular in the livestock and production sectors related to milk production, because milk production has all the prospects for increasing productivity. Ukraine should conduct a national agrarian policy on the milk market, anticipate and take into account changes in the world market. To borrow international experience, principles and apply similar mechanisms for the proper functioning of this area in the context of agriculture.
