Abstract

In the article results of researches of the market of fruit and berry production in Ukraine are resulted. The dynamics of the market of fruits and berries of Ukraine is analyzed. The modern state of production of the main types of fruit and berry crops in Ukraine is studied. The main aspects of the fruit and berry products market functioning are determined. The balance of fruit consumption in Ukraine is analyzed. The main problems that hamper the development of the fruit and berry market in Ukraine are revealed and recommendations for their overcoming are given. Agriculture is one of the leading sectors of the Ukrainian economy. The development of the agrarian sector is facilitated by: proximity of markets, developed transport infrastructure, growth of world demand for food products. However, most of the agricultural sector is aimed at growing cereals and oilseeds. Favorable natural and climatic conditions, favorable geographic position make it possible to grow not only grain and oilseeds, therefore Ukraine has a high potential for growing fruits and berries, because the demand for this product is always high, and the proposal, unfortunately, remains low. In modern conditions, under the influence of globalization processes on the economy of our country, the branch of horticulture should develop in accordance with world trends, be competitive and be export oriented. The article reveals the tendencies of the market development of fruit and berries in Ukraine, which testify to a slight increase in fruit and berry production in recent years. The fruit and berry sector in Ukraine needs further development. It is necessary to take development measures both from the side of the state and from the side of the producer of fruits and berries. It is found that it is necessary to take into account the high competition on the world market of fruit and berry producers, therefore our country, without the support of the state in this sector, will risk the loss of industrial horticulture and become dependent on imports.
