Abstract

Solvency management is one of the most important tasks of any enterprise. This is primarily due to the need to accumulate significant amounts of financial resources to ensure normal business in the context of inflationary tendencies, instability of the national currency, a permanent crisis in certain industries, an increase in the risk of non-payment of counter-parties, instability of the banking system, and an increase in unemployment. Supporting solvency indicators within the regulatory level allows enterprises not only to ensure a stable financial position in the short term, but also to create conditions for further development. This thesis concerns enterprises of all forms of ownership. In this sense, it is disturbing that in Ukraine there is a steady downward trend in the solvency of utilities, which inherited a whole complex of financial problems from the command and control economy. Visually, this is manifested in the lack of money in the accounts, violation of the terms of payment of wages, the presence of delays in settlements with suppliers and the like. The main reasons for the current state of utilities are the outdated management principles as well as inefficiency of funds for the modernization of fixed assets, and high dependence on subsidies from local budgets. Therefore, there is an urgent need to find ways to improve the solvency of utilities in order to further transform them into the main sources of local budgets. In particular, we can talk about a set of measures aimed at ensuring the acceleration and the development of the current assets of utilities. An important role in this is played by various kinds of innovations (technological, marketing, managerial), which is the result of scientific and technical activity, designed as an object of intellectual property, materialized in the production sector or in the service sector of a demanded market.
