The article is devoted to topical issues of retail bank lending in modern conditions. The composition, structure and dynamics of the loan portfolio of a particular banking institution, the features of the implementation of bank lending processes for individuals are analyzed. The quality of the loan portfolio of individuals was investigated. The directions of optimization of the processes of retail bank lending are determined. The article analyzes the dynamics of retail lending in Ukraine during 2014–2018. The structure of loans provided to households is studied by types. Also the market of retail lending is analyzed by the currency used. The list of banks that have very large and very small share of population loans in their loan portfolios as compared to the average in the banking system is presented. Key steps in stabilizing banking loans to individuals, and thus in the entire banking system of Ukraine in general are offered.. The article deals with problems of bank lending for individuals in Ukraine. Main trends in bank lending and factors affecting it are analyzed. The reasons of negative trends in Ukrainian bank lending for individuals were defined. Potential measures to solve problems are substantiated.
