Abstract

One of the most important tasks of development of the enterprise and the country as a whole, is inseparably connected with efficiency of production, ensuring release of necessary quantity of modern products and improvement of quality, achievement of competitiveness of production in the world market. Increased competition (for the sale of their products, for a place in the market) between manufacturers makes them look for new means of influencing the decision of buyers. One of these ways is to create products of improved quality. Best foreign experience shows that quality is undoubtedly the most significant component of competitiveness, but at the same time, the possibility of selling products, in addition to quality, determined by a significant number of parameters and conditions, most of which apply not only to the product, but also to the enterprise, firm and even the country. The concept of competitiveness is interpreted and analyzed depending on the economic object under consideration. Of course, the criteria, characteristics and factors of the dynamics of competitiveness at the level of goods, firms, corporations, industries, national economy, or nation have their own specifics. Competitiveness analysis can be carried out for each of the levels, depending on the objectives of the study. Competition is an important element of the mechanism of self-regulation of the market economy and at the same time a specific form of its functioning. Translated from the Latin word means "converge", "collide". Competition is a competition between subjects of market economy for the best conditions of production, a favorable position in the market and so on. It is the market force that provides the interaction of supply and demand, balancing market prices. At the macro level, the concept of competitiveness reflects the position of the national economy in the international system, mainly in the area of international trade, and at the same time its ability to strengthen its position. This is the most important, but not the only aspect of the concept of competitiveness of the nation. It is necessary to take into account the ability to maintain and increase the rate of economic growth, employment, real incomes of citizens.
