The article substantiates the importance of managing stocks of Ukrainian trade enterprises in view of the dynamics of the main indicators of trade. The main characteristics of models of inventory management systems in the conditions of independent demand are considered: the volume of the order, the point of placing the order, the way of accounting, the complexity of use and the type of materials (goods) for which they are used. The way to calculate the order size for a fixed-volume model and a fixed-order model is given. The methodical approach to stock control of a trading company is developed based on the use of basic models of inventory management systems in conditions of independent demand, which is based on a set of formalized procedures identified through logic circuits and informograms. To display the main operations of the inventory management process of a trading enterprise, a logical scheme is presented. It reflects the following main operations of the process: analysis of the sales of the enterprise by the product line of the range, calculation of the size of the supply of goods, the formation of the schedule of supply of goods, taking into account consumer inquiries, control of deliveries of goods on schedule. In order to determine the instructions and methods for converting incoming information of operations to the outgoing information, as well as the list of this information, the informogram of the process of managing stock of goods of a trading enterprise is developed. The informogram reflects the list of input and output information on the operations of the process, as well as the methods and models that were used: ABC analysis, fixed-volume models of inventory management systems, fixed-period models of inventory management systems, resource scheduling methodology, management methods, and plan / fact method analysis.
