The article examines the hotel industry in Europe, identifies the main leaders of European regions in terms of hotel occupancy, average daily room rate (ADR) and revenue per available room per day (RevPAR). Thus, the Northern region was found to be the leader in terms of hotel occupancy, which is approximately 1.2 times higher than this indicator than the outsider region – Eastern Europe. In terms of average daily room rate (ADR), almost the entire study period (2008-2018), the leader was the Western region and only in 2017-2018. it went around the Southern region. Approximately the same situation was in the section of the revenue per available room per day (RevPAR). The analysis of the dynamics of operation indicators of rooms’ number of the European Union hotel industry (EU-28) for 2006-2016 was made. The dynamics of the increase in the number of rooms in hotels and similar accommodation facilities was stable and amounted to an increase of 13.85 %. The average number of rooms showed an increase of 13.82 %, so in 2006 it averaged 29 rooms in accommodation facilities, and in 2016 – 33 numbers. The number of nights spent in hotels and similar accommodation facilities was not stable, but showed an average growth and increase of 21.29 %. The place of Europe among other macro-regions in terms of hotel occupancy is considered. So, in 2018, the Europe region was inferior in terms of load to the Asia-Pacific and the Middle East and Africa. For a more detailed analysis of the load level of the European region, absolute and relative indicators were used: absolute growth, growth rate, absolute percentage growth.
