Knowledge management model in higher education institution: process-structural analysis

Abstract

Purpose. Investigate some aspects of the implementation of the knowledge management system in a higher education institution on the basis of a process-structural approach and improve the approach to the implementation of such a system in a higher education institution in modern conditions. Method. The process-structural approach to the analysis of the essence of "knowledge management" as a tool to achieve competitive advantages of the organization in the market has been used in the article. Results. The essence of the concept of "knowledge management" as a system of interconnected processes and tools for creating, systematizing, analyzing, storing, transferring and updating explicit and implicit knowledge and providing access to them within the organization, aimed at creating added value has been determined. It has been researched that the key goal of knowledge management is to achieve the required level of competitiveness through the transformation of intellectual capital into tangible assets and income, using organizational, technical and cultural components of the organization in creating, accumulating, exchanging and using knowledge between staff, its structural elements and other organizations. It has been reasoned to require the implementation of knowledge management systems in higher education institutions and the transformation of such into organizations capable of selflearning. The knowledge management system of the organization has been analyzed by its key components and their relationship has been reflected. Scientific novelty. The author's model of the organization's knowledge management system based on the processstructural approach, suitable for implementation in higher education institutions of Ukraine, has been proposed. The importance of formalization and analysis of internal business processes for the implementation of knowledge management in the organization has been determined. Practical importance. Based on the analysis of literature sources, a single step-by-step approach to the implementation of a knowledge management system in a higher education institution has been formalized. The basic components of the knowledge management system, without which it is impossible to implement it in practice, have been identified: people, business processes, infrastructure
