The article considers the dynamics of reducing the number of traveling tourists, reducing the contribution of world GDP from tourism, reducing jobs due to closure and reducing the number of collective accommodation due to the manifestations of coronavirus. The advantages of the analysis of the macroenvironment of the hotel industry are considered. The differences between the separate methods of analysis are highlighted and considered, taking into account their features, tasks, determining the advantages and disadvantages of the methods. SWOT-analysis, PEST-analysis and TEMPLES methodology are considered, by means of which the strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the external environment in the development of the hotel industry are identified and analyzed. Influencing factors in the analysis of the environment in the context of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic have been identified and methods have been identified to avoid epidemiological risks; developed practical recommendations based on the results of the analysis.
