Abstract

The driving force of the development of the digital economy is information and communication technologies. The identification of the development trends of the digital economy was carried out on the basis of the analysis of indicators of the introduction of such technologies into the activities of economic entities. The purpose of the article is to analyze current trends in the development of the digital economy in Ukraine, in particular, in terms of the implementation of modern information and communication technologies in the activities of domestic enterprises. Statistical analysis proved that a significant share of Ukrainian enterprises has access to the Internet; provides its staff with Internet access; there is a slow increase in the use of Big Data" technologies, Cloud Computing, and robotics in the activities of the country's economic entities. Ukraine does not fully use the existing potential in the field of digitalization of business processes. Quarantine restrictions caused by the pandemic of the coronavirus infection COVID-19 led to the acceleration of the pace of implementation of information technologies in the activities of enterprises. Such technologies allowed the business to continue communication with customers and partners, improve the service provision process, optimize costs, and generate innovative digital products. The full-scale russian invasion of the territory of Ukraine forced businesses to change their vectors of activity, slow down the processes of digitalization, and also caused the destruction of enterprises that actively used robots (robotics) in the production process. These losses have a negative impact on the pace of development of the digital economy in Ukraine. An important role in the development of digital economy is played by well-developed communication between state and business; such communication is being developed by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine. Prospects for further research consist in the analysis of Ukraine's position in the global rankings of digitalization, digital transformation of business, and the development of the digital economy.
