Abstract

Purpose: efficient managerial decision-making in conditions of a turbulent environment can not be conducted without taking the manager's individual psychological peculiarities into account. Although full-scale military operations, political and economic instability and risks negatively affect every enterprise in Ukraine, the future opportunities for them to turn crisis into development depends heavily on their managers' decisions. Hence, this investigation aims at searching for special efficient tools for management activity improvement, which leads to unimpaired operation of national enterprises, in the present case - in wartime within the territory of our state. Method: the theoretical analysis of studies on this matter was carried out, which helped synthesize scientific knowledge in the sphere of cognitive aspects of managerial behavior in crisis conditions and select those, which allow making an intelligent viable decision. Result: it is stated that personal enhancement and professional growth of a manager is of a great necessity, as it helps to react promptly to unknown situations. Based on the analyzed scientific research papers at the intersection of practical psychology and management, the key cognitive factors that will help managers adapt thinking processes to the situations of uncertainty and to act successfully under challenging conditions of the business environment were discovered. Practical importance: examining individual psychological peculiarities of a manager helps business administration in practice, promoting Ukraine's economic growth in general and boosting its recovery in the post-crisis era. The material of the research is also a scientific ground for а practicing manager. In particular, it can serve as a basis for designing staff training programs or personal development plans. Moreover, the scientific results of the present article can be used for further study of personal features and cognitive capacity that have influence on the quality of the decision-making process in circumstances of uncertain or incomplete information, since the matter under inquiry is still being understudied in national science.
