Abstract

The restaurant industry is currently facing its biggest challenge in recent times. In order to survive in difficult conditions, restaurant business owners transform the usual formats of activity and activate all possible reserves and key resources. The effectiveness of managerial activity largely depends on the manager's ability to solve non-standard tasks and problems. The article defines the characteristic features of management decisions. The requirements for management decisions are characterized. A management decision is made by the management system for purposeful influence on the managed system, which ensures obtaining the appropriate results to achieve the specified goal. The ability and ability to make the right decisions constitute the competence of a manager at any level of management. The given classification of management decisions makes it possible to characterize any decision. Making management decisions is an important part of the management activity around which the life of the organization revolves. The decision-making process is complex and multifaceted. It includes a number of stages and operations. The questions about how many and which stages should take place in the decision-making process, what is the specific content of each of them, are solved by managers in different ways. It depends on the manager's qualifications, a certain situation, leadership style and organizational culture. Appropriate measures include reorientation of target criteria, giving new meaning to management functions and delineating vectors for improving business processes of enterprises in the service sector, which will contribute to the realization of their main business goals. Comprehensive validity of decisions means the need to make them on the basis of the most complete and reliable information. They should cover the entire spectrum of issues, the completeness of the enterprise's needs, take into account the peculiarities of the ways of development of the industry and the surrounding environment, include an analysis of resource provision, scientific and technical capabilities, target directions of development, economic and social prospects of the enterprise.
