Abstract

The task of the article is to systematize the achievements of scientists regarding the development of strategic management concepts based on the resource approach and to highlight its main elements. It was determined that the basis of the resource approach was the resource theory. The development of the resource theory concepts of «organization competence» and «organization capabilities» is systematized. It has been proven that the capabilities of the organization are revealed not in business processes, but through the process of their implementation. The role of the organization capabilities in the formation of sustainable competitive advantages is defined. The importance of organization knowledge as the most significant resource of the organization is proven. It is substantiated that it is appropriate to determine the capabilities of the organization in a combination of formalized and informalized knowledges. The main components of the organization capabilities are singled out: process execution technology and personnel competence. The results of research on the most important competencies of managers are presented.
