Abstract

Purpose. This study aims to retrospectively and currently analyze scientific publications on compliance control in the system of bank corporate governance. Method. The research focuses on studying and analyzing trends in compliance control, its optimization, and enhancement on an international level using the Scopus bibliometric database and VOSViewer v.1.6.19. The study begins with a detailed analysis of the Scopus academic database to map relationships between compliance control and other scientific disciplines and lexical units. The VOSViewer v.1.6.19 software is employed to create cluster schemas and visualize relationships. The analysis proceeds through multiple stages, including an examination of Ukrainian researchers' work, a Scopus publication analysis, identification of research directions, and overall trends in the field. Results. The research findings can be integrated into the bank corporate governance system to improve the efficiency of compliance control. Ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, ethical standards, and regulatory provisions is crucial for the stability and reliability of the banking sector. Furthermore, these results can serve as the basis for the formulation of compliance control requirements and standards by regulatory authorities. Scientific novelty. The results of this study contribute to the theoretical and methodological foundations of compliance control in bank corporate governance. The analysis of the Scopus bibliometric database, utilizing bibliometric analysis tools like VOSViewer v.1.6.19, helps clarify the interpretation of compliance, defining it as a system aimed at ensuring ethical behavior, legal compliance, and internal control within an organization. The periodic interest in compliance control, particularly during economic crises and recessions, underscores its importance. Practical importance. The interconnectedness of compliance control with various aspects of corporate governance highlights the need for further research and the development of a national research base in Ukraine, including support for young scientists and expanding the scientific community's involvement in bank corporate governance issues.
