Abstract

Purpose: to investigate the essence of business accelerators, their difference from other forms of business support, to analyze the state and study the peculiarities of the development of business accelerators in Ukraine, to develop proposals for the development of business accelerators in the most promising industries. Method: analysis of literary sources, comparative analysis of the characteristics of business incubators and startup accelerators, survey of stakeholders, study of international and national experience of accelerators. Scientific novelty:  the startup-accelerator specializes in young innovative teams, accelerating their development. A business-accelerator can help existing companies develop and improve faster. The main types of support that a business can receive in a business-accelerator are proposed to be combined into the following groups: resources, mentoring and coaching, communications, investments;  the activities of a business-accelerator should be based on an analysis of international and national experience, taking into account the specifics of the Ukrainian market. The main priority of the business-accelerator is to spread innovation among traditional businesses and attract investors. In Ukraine, acceleration programs for small businesses are most needed in the following areas: technology and digital transformation; eco business; medicine; agribusiness;  the main stages of creating a business-accelerator are described;  business-accelerators in Ukraine promote entrepreneurship by stimulating innovation, attracting investment, creating jobs, developing entrepreneurial talent and partnerships. Practical importance: the research results emphasize the need to create business-accelerators aimed at supporting traditional businesses in Ukraine. They also serve as the basis for forming strategies to support the innovation ecosystem, developing acceleration programs for specific sectors, as well as adapting international experience to the conditions of the Ukrainian market.
