Abstract

Purpose of the article is to conduct a comparative analysis of international trade in travel services in Ukraine and the Republic of Poland in the context of Ukraine's integration into the EU, as well as to determine, on this basis, general and distinctive development trends. The results were obtained through the use of a system of methods: analysis and synthesis, comparative analysis, comparison, graphical and tabular methods. Results. The research made it possible to determine the current trends in international trade in travel services in Ukraine and Poland: 1) a steady increase in the export of travel-related services in Poland, in the presence of short-term upward trends and rapid reversals of the downward trend in Ukraine; 2) constant increase in the demand of residents of Ukraine for travel services from non-resident manufacturers, and therefore a gradual increase in import volumes, with a slight fluctuation of a similar indicator in Poland; 3) the presence of a general trend caused by the same direction of changes in the foreign trade circulation of travel services in Poland and Ukraine. At the same time, a significant difference is the volume of foreign trade turnover of travel services in both countries; 4) the existence of a passive trade balance of travel services in Ukraine with a constant increase in the deficit, with a constant increase in the surplus in Poland. In the presence of common historically formed determinants of the tourism development in Ukraine and Poland, the countries show mainly different trends in international trade in travel services, which is due to the influence of a wide range of endogenous and exogenous determinants, as well as the presence of specific threats and risks to the development of tourism. The practical significance of the obtained results lies in the possibility of their further application for the formation and implementation of the state policy of managing the development of tourism in the post-war period in order to accelerate the recovery of the state's economy.
