Abstract
The article examines the evaluation and analysis of implementing an information management system known as an "SRS
system" into the management practices of retail enterprises. This study aims to quantify the influence of contemporary automated
systems on the profitability (ROA) of German retailers from 2020 to 2023. Retail businesses spend money on various operational
needs, a significant part of which is staffing. In particular, personnel costs in European supermarkets account for about 12-20%
of total costs. Optimizing the costs of working personnel through digitalization and the introduction of smart information systems
can significantly reduce costs – up to 10-20%. However, such changes require investment in new systems and their support, which
requires a strategic approach to planning. We used a simple grouping method to divide the companies into two groups: those using
advanced technologies in business process management and the rest. To assess the influence of basic economic indicators such
as liquidity, receivables, business growth, and store size on return on assets, regression analysis was used. The modeling results
showed that enterprises with SRS systems implemented in their operations demonstrate higher financial performance compared
to those that do not use such solutions. This once again emphasizes the importance of the principle of flexibility in business
management, i.e., the implementation of a fundamental concept within the framework of dynamic capabilities theory, which allows
companies to quickly and effectively adjust their strategies and operations during a crisis.
