Abstract

The article discusses the importance of innovation in the enterprises of medical and health tourism in Azerbaijan, their relevance and effectiveness. The author emphasizes that at the present stage of development, in conditions of increasing competition, travel companies are forced to produce and offer innovative tourism products, modernizing the scope of travel services. Based on this, the author proposed the main priorities for the strategic development of health tourism enterprises in Azerbaijan. It is noted that the process of innovation in the field of tourism from a modern point of view rather specific. Innovations in the sphere of tourism are purposeful, inevitable, controlled and practical changes and innovations that are planned at the level of states and public associations, organizations operating in the sphere of tourism. It is also emphasized that at present there are two types of innovations in the field of tourism: crisis innovations and developed innovations. A crisis innovation is the prevention of the disappearance of an existing product from the market and the decision to apply a specific innovation to preserve it. This innovation is delivered to the market in a short time and, if properly applied, this product continues to be marketed. Attention is drawn to the fact that increasing competition in the modern tourist market in Azerbaijan makes travel companies prepare and offer innovative tourism products. Currently, hundreds of new tourism products are being prepared and implemented. They include both simple innovations and high-quality innovations. It is important to note that in the development of an innovative tourist product, it is necessary to rely on both local and foreign experience. In total, it is noted that, in general, the introduction of innovations in the field of medical and health tourism in the country means the gradual introduction of innovative methods, the improvement of their quality. All these measures will increase the international image of Azerbaijan. The main strategic goal is to create conditions for the creation in Azerbaijan of a modern, competitive and highly efficient, accessible to all segments of the population complex medical and health tourism.
