Requirements for a scientific article

To publish a scientific article you must submit:

A scientific article in Ukrainian, English or Russian with a minimum volume of 40,000 printed characters accompanied by an electronic version (Microsoft Word 2007, 2010). The review should be signed by the Doctor of Science and stamped. Author’s reference (information about the author) by a (Google Forms) , as well as a confirmation of the research originality in a form , which is certified by the signatures of the authors (the original or in a scanned format), which indicates the surname, name and patronymic of the author (s), the title of article, makes sure that the article honestly represents an independently conducted study and does not contain plagiarism, and it is also guaranteed that the authors obtained all the necessary permissions for the copyrighted materials use, the article was prepared specifically for the collection of scientific works “Scientific Bulletin of the Odessa National Economic University”, has never before been published and provided in other scientific editions.

Students’ articles are accepted for publication only in co-authorship with a scientific advisor who has a scientific degree and academic title.

English-language scientific articles should be submitted for the review in academic English and in the original language (Ukrainian or Russian). The authors of the publication translate their scientific articles into English after passing external peer review and checking for plagiarism.

Technical requirements for the scientific article:

• A4 paper size,
• portrait orientation,
• margins: upper – 2,0; lower – 2,0; left – 3,0; right – 1,5,
• Times New Roman font, size 14 pt, spacing 1.5, space 1.25 cm,
• references to literary sources by text – in square brackets,
• links to Internet resources should correspond to the specified source,
• On the left in the upper corner of the page is noted UDK (Universal Decimal Classification), on the same line in the upper right corner - DOI
• The title of the article is in Ukrainian. Size 14 pt, semi-bold, capital letters,
• Surname, first name of the author(s), degree and position of the author(s), full name of the organization/educational institution, city, country in Ukrainian. Font 12 pt,
• E-mail. Size 12 pt,
• ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID). Size 12 pt,
• Abstract in Ukrainian. The next line is the keywords in Ukrainian. Font 12 pt, italics,
• The title of the article is in English. Font 14 pt, semi-bold, capital letters,
• Surname, first name of the author(s), degree and position of the author(s), full name of the organization/educational institution, city, country in English. Font 12 pt,
• E-mail. Font 12 pt,
• ORCID. Font 12 pt,
• Abstract in English. The next line is keywords in English. Font 12 pt, italics,
• JEL Classification (JEL Classification Codes Guide). Font 12 pt, semi-bold, italics,
• The text of the article.

Requirements for the formatting of formulas, illustrations and tables.

 

Requirements for the structure of the scientific article:

TITLE, ABSTRACT, KEYWORDS

The title of the scientific article should briefly reflect the nature of the work performed and the findings obtained. Too common titles should be avoided, referring to the broad scope of the research.

The number of words in the title is no more than 10.

The title of the scientific article should include the name of the object of the research, the nature of the action and the expected direction of the effect (“modernization”, “improvement”, “research”, “comparison”, “development …with the aim”, etc.).

The abstract should be in the range of 1800-2000 characters (250-300 words in common terminology). By its structure, the abstract should follow the content of the scientific article, i.e briefly substantiate the relevance of the selected topic, reveal the main actions in the research process and the findings obtained by the author.

Required abstract elements are:

Object of the research (“The object of the research is the processes of ...”, “One of the main problems of the… is ...”, etc.).

Methodology (“The information base of the research consists of data from ...”, “The official statistical base is ...”, “During the research, methods of… were used …”, etc.).

Findings (“Based on empirical generalizations, the article determines that…”, “This is achieved through…”, “The implementation of a system of measures in the spheres of …”, “Compared to similar known ones… it provides advantages, such as…”, etc.).

Originality (“The scientific article proves a special role ... that is determined by ...”, etc.).

Practical and (or) theoretical value (“Practical value is in the fact that...”, “The findings obtained in the future will be used to ...”, etc.).

Keywords (7-10 words or phrases consisting of terms that define the subject area of the scientific article).

Title, abstract and keywords should not contain abbreviations that are only understood in the context of the scientific article.

 

TEXT OF THE SCIENTIFIC ARTICLE

• Formulation of the problem.

• Analysis of recent research and publications.

• Separation of previously unresolved parts of the overall problem.

• Purpose of the study.

• Basic material.

• Conclusions.

• Список літератури.

 

Literature

At the end of the scientific article, the literature is presented in two forms: Literature and References (list for international databases).

“Literature” is issued in accordance with DSTU 8302: 2015 “Information and documentation. Bibliographic reference. General Terms and Conditions of Assembly”.

The literature should contain 10–20 sources with the date of publication not older than 5 years and the number of references to scientific publications of the author of the scientific article (self-references) up to 20%.

The number of foreign sources of the scientific periodicals should be at least 50% of all sources used.

Links to references are arranged in the APA Style (Reference Citations Romanesque alphabet).

The presentation of a transliterated list of sources (“References”) in the Romanesque alphabet (Latin) should be maximally acceptable for international databases and must be carried out in compliance with requirements for transliteration of Cyrillic texts.
